Who We Are & Who We Work With
Omnes Group is a specialized recruitment agency focused on hiring top-tier candidates across engineering, agile disciplines, go-to-market, marketing, and technical leadership roles. We work primarily with product-first companies—mostly seed-stage startups that are hiring remotely, though our partnerships span various stages and structures depending on the specific needs and opportunities.
Our mission is straightforward: match exceptional candidates to roles where they’ll thrive, and connect companies with talent that will drive their product vision forward. We believe in transparency, honest communication, and maintaining a positive candidate experience throughout the process. You’re safe to be open about your goals, concerns, and what you’re really looking for—we’re here to find the right fit, not just any fit.
What Early-Stage Startups Are Looking For
The companies we work with are building the next generation of technology products, and they need team members who can navigate the unique challenges of early-stage environments. Based on current market trends, startups want “cracked” engineers and professionals—those with a track record of ownership, curiosity, and the ability to “grind” when needed. Length of experience doesn’t matter after around the 2-year point.
Here’s what we consistently see our startup partners prioritizing:
Ownership Mindset: Early-stage startups prioritize candidates who demonstrate adaptability and can thrive in ambiguous environments. You’re not just executing tasks—you’re identifying problems, proposing solutions, and taking accountability for outcomes. Whether you’re debugging a critical system issue at 9 PM or pivoting a go-to-market strategy based on user feedback, you approach challenges as if the company’s success directly depends on your decisions.
Technical Curiosity & Learning Agility: The tech stack you used at your last company might be completely different from what you’ll work with next. Our startup partners value professionals who demonstrate genuine curiosity about new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies. For backend tech stacks, the most common languages are TypeScript (easily the most common), Python (surprisingly popular, usually with another language like TypeScript or Go), often because of AI and ML work. But beyond specific technologies, they want evidence that you actively explore, experiment, and adapt.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Remote-first culture has changed how we evaluate collaboration skills. In small teams, you’ll work directly with founders, designers, product managers, and engineers across different time zones. Strong asynchronous communication, documentation skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders become critical.
Resilience & Execution Speed: Startups operate in environments where requirements change rapidly, resources are constrained, and there’s constant pressure to deliver value to users. Focus on the fundamentals: intelligence, personality, diligence. Instead of testing for specific knowledge, check how a prospect reacts when you ask them to do something they haven’t worked on before. Our partners need team members who can maintain high-quality output while moving fast.
Product & Business Awareness: Even in technical roles, understanding the broader product strategy and business objectives makes you significantly more valuable. We’re looking for evidence of both technical curiosity and product empathy. You don’t need to be a product manager, but you should understand how your work connects to user outcomes and company goals.
